Weekly Wrap-up – April 7th

I don’t have much to say about the stuff I consumed this past week – but I consumed a lot.

Music

Drake – Nice For What

YAS DRAKE. This video makes me proud that you are from Toronto. You made with this a female director. Had a bunch of strong females in it. This song is the ‘Destiny’s Child Independent Women’ for women in 2018. Into it. Can’t stop dancing around my kitchen.

Space Oddity

A little #behindthescenes of a fantastic music video. Just a joy to watch.

Sports

NCAAW National Championship Game

I don’t even want to talk about this because I don’t want to ruin it for you if you haven’t seen this yet. But let’s just say – when they talk about storybook endings, you cannot come up with a more PERFECT game ending. Kudos to all the girls playing on both teams. You fought hard, played with integrity, and it was an honour to watch you play.

TV

Seth Rogen talks politics

A little Justin Trudeau.  A little Trump. Seth Rogen laughing… what more could you want.

Jersey Shore 2.0

Jersey Shore is back for a Family Vacation and it’s amazing. I’m obsessed. DJ Pauly D, Snooki, Situation and the gang are all back (minus Sam) and it’s like nothing has changed (minus some faces). I loved this show when it first came out and watching the reboot really reminded me of what a joy this program was. Show creator SallyAnn Salsano really hit the sweet spot with this one.

Radio

q with Tom Power

Dear Tom Power. Please hire me. I would kill to work on this show. You have the best guests, you do great interviews and you just seem so much nicer than the first guy. I want a Canadian star system and you are doing the BEST job at making it happen. Kudos to you Tom.

Chatelaine: Being A Teen Girl On Social Media Is Like Having A High-Pressure, Full-Time (Unpaid!) Job

I loved this article. Read it then please email me because I want to talk about it. Maybe even turn it into a doc. Click here to read the article.

Also in teen girl news… check out this article all about Teen Boss in the New Yorker.

Internet

Carnaby street is amazing. It’s where I got my Kate Middle-toe socks. I’m a big fan. However… I lived in London for a year and never discovered it. When I finally wandered around the area on my most recent trip I was so mad at myself for not heading here before. It’s now on the top of my ‘What to do in London’ list – which btw I will send to any of you if you ask for it 🙂

James Veitch.

I recently discovered James Veitch and I’m obsessed. We need to talk about the ducks… and also his TED talks. Again please hit me up. Would love to discuss.
